Final video project from highschool, I don't know how funny this will be without knowing the people involved, just thought I'd share.

Heres one of my favorite videos I've made, It has problems, But I'm honestly still fond of it.

Why trying to make your video purely for views or exposure is a bad idea

A lot of people on Youtube these days seem to think the only sign of success a video is that it achieves a tremendous amount of views.  People tend to measure the success of their projects based purely on how pervasive it can be.  This leads to low quality and sometimes even blatant plagarism in the attempt to draw in an audience.  Instead of trying to make a video that either conveys a message or just allows them to put show their passion to anyone, no matter how small the group.  I firmly believe that most people posting on Youtube, myself included, should focus more on trying to obtain criticism and an honest critique that cannot always be found when showing your project to someone in person.  Websites such as Reddit and Vimeo allow creative outlets, that, while not always garnering the amazing view counts of Youtube, often bring more in depth comments and views that would not be found elsewhere.

Me and what I want to do

Well, to start off I've been making, or attempting to make movies since I was in 5th grade.  Our earliest production stories involved getting in trouble by my parents for throwing fireworks into a drainage ditch in order to create the proper sound effects.  I'd like to use this blog to follow myself and my friends on the production of our various videos, this would include behind the scenes photographs and links not posted directly to my Youtube channel. I'll also post links to the finished videos as they are released and hopefully you will be able to follow as the quality and interest of the films evolve and change.  To start off, here's a picture of my brother trying to look heroic...or threatening, I can't always tell with him.
